Surface-mount technology (SMT) is a method for producing electronic circuits in which the components are mounted or placed directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The technology was developed in the 1960s and became widely used in the late 1980s. Much of the pioneering work in this technology was by IBM.
An electronic device so made is called a surface-mount device (SMD). An SMT component is usually smaller than its through-hole counterpart because it has either smaller leads or no leads at all. It may have short pins or leads of various styles, flat contacts, a matrix of solder balls (BGAs), or terminations on the body of the component.
-------------------Information from Wikipedia
In 2015, First Green Company newly launches SMD terminals used especially in LED lights. Compact in size for making fully use of space is the primary advantage of SMD terminals. For the aluminum base laminates which demands for Surface Mounted Technology, SMD is no doubt a good choice. SMD, put directly onto the surface, replace soldering the wire on aluminum base laminates. It not only creates the new method of connection, but provides a safer way and makes changing wire more easily. It can also be widely used in Solar Inverter, Auto Device, Input and Output Amplifier, Power Supply Equipment, Electronic Communication Equipment, Automation Equipment, etc.
Specification for SMD:
1. Housing: 94-V0 High-temperature Resistance Thermoplastic
